a dress for Alex Rigg
Inspired by a tree in a storm
This costume was inspired by an origional poem written by Alex Rigg. The poem was about a tree attacked in a storm, and the concept of water running over the bark and drowning the insects that lived inside informed this structured bodice (designed to be worn from any size from womens 4-18) and the chiffon hand dyed skirt that emulates the flowing water that caught the bugs. The skirt is weighted by hand beaded beatles in a variety of colours that were derived from a colour palette that Alex provided. All the materials in this project have been reclaimed.
